Before using any new controller, update the firmware first.
Firmware updates ensure access to the latest features, security fixes, and performance improvements.
If you're experiencing any issue, update firmware before contacting support.
Internet connection is required.
Update via the controller’s embedded web interface (no need to download tools).
You may also use LESS (LumiRing Easy Setup Software) for network discovery, bulk updates, and troubleshooting — optional.
Go to the web interface → click "Check for New Update".
If it says "No update available", your device is fully updated.
Unplug the controller, wait 10–15 seconds, then reconnect power.
Retry the update.
Do the same full power cycle and try again.
Update over Ethernet for best stability.
Wi-Fi updates are not recommended.
If needed, place the controller near the router or use a phone hotspot.
Make sure Wi-Fi signal is stronger than -65 dB.
Do not update in AP mode (when connected to the controller’s access point).

Do not contact support until you've completed the update process.
