Firmware Updates: A Required First Step Before Support

Before installing and using a new controller, update the firmware first. Firmware updates are critical to ensuring your device has the latest features, security patches, and performance improvements. If you experience any issues, update your firmware before contacting technical support.

How to Update

  • ICON, ICON-PRO, and AIR Devices

    • Require an internet connection for updates.
    • Can be updated through their embedded web interface directly from the LumiRing firmware update server.
    • LESS (LumiRing Easy Setup Software) is available for network discovery, bulk updates, and troubleshooting, but is not required for updates.

  • LRM Devices

    • Must be connected to the P2P cloud for updates.
    • Updates can be done manually or set to automatic nightly upgrades.
    • The update process takes about 60 seconds, depending on internet speed.
    • You can manually check for new firmware in the controller settings under the INFO button.
