How do I use Copy Protection?

Supported card formats: MIFARE Classic mini/1K/4K
Supported devices:
  1. AIR-USB Desktop Reader for RFID Card Encryption
  2. AIR-R Reader
  3. Reader-Controller AIR-CR
Application: Any access control systems using controllers with Wiegand or RS-485 interface support (via OSDP protocol)

Description: Copy protection secures private memory areas on RFID cards through encryption. Once encrypted, these areas can only be accessed with a specific password. Matching the encryption password on the ID and the reader allows access; if the passwords differ or are absent, the card is ignored. This ensures only authorized RFID cards are accessed.
Copying an encrypted card is limited; only open memory areas can be replicated, while protected areas remain secure.

Steps to Implement Copy Protection
Encryption Setup:
  1. Use the AIR-USB desktop reader to encrypt RFID cards.
  2. Activate encryption mode, set a six-character password, and confirm the settings.
  3. Place the ID on the desktop reader to complete encryption.
Enable Copy Protection Mode:
  1. Activate this mode on AIR-R readers.
  2. Enter the encryption password and apply the settings.
Activating the copy protection mode prevents the use of unencrypted RFID cards and reliably blocks unauthorized access.
